Richard Beecham
Personal and Executive Coach

About Me
Originally a professional theatre director, my passion for working up-close with others and enabling them to flourish led me to coaching.
I first experienced coaching for myself when I was awarded a Fellowship on the prestigous Clore Leadership Programme. Pausing my career as a theatre director to undertake a period of rigorous leadership development and deep personal reflection, my experience of being coached was transformational - a real ‘lightbulb moment’. Soon after, I trained as an accredited Personal & Executive Coach with Performance Coach Training and the Cultural Leadership Programme.
Now I run a portfolio career as a Personal & Executive Coach, Facilitator, Trainer and Theatre-maker. I love the variety of my roles as well as the golden thread that runs through them all…
enabling people to flourish
In addition to working as a Personal & Executive Coach with private clients, I also partner with a number of coaching and training organisations. I am a Fellow and Associate Coach & Facilitator of Clore Leadership working with senior, mid-career and emerging leaders from across the cultural sector in the UK and internationally; an Associate of Generate Partnership where I work with a range of organisations from the public sector; an Associate of Global Training UK where I work with organisations from both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors; and a Coach at the Arvon Foundation working with writers to support their creative process.
My voluntary work includes 15 years as a Trustee of the performing arts centre Brixton House in South London; I am a Mentor on the Oxford Future Leaders Programme at the University of Oxford; and I am a longstanding Listening Volunteer for the mental health charity, Samaritans.
